The construction of the Christus-Kirche was begun in 1954 according to plans by architect Berthold Haas
and consecrated in November 1956 by the then regional bishop Julius Bender.
The bell tower has remained open so that the three bells with their inscriptions are visible.
Inside the church, there is a sgraffito by Herbert Lentz in the chancel. It depicts Jesus Christ and the calming of the storm.
