Fishing at Schluchsee

Gemeinde Schluchsee, Fischbacher Straße 7, 79859 Schluchsee

The Schluchsee is a fishing paradise. According to Sitftung Warentest, the largest lake in the Black Forest has been one of the cleanest lakes in Germany for years. Environmental protection is a top priority here: Motorboats must stay outside.

The Schluchsee offers everything an angler's heart desires: eel, pike, zander, whitefish, carp, tench, lake trout, rainbow trout, brown trout, Arctic char, burbot, perch and whitefish.

The dammed Schluchsee is not only the largest lake in the Black Forest but also the largest inland body of water in the whole of Baden-Württemberg. The highest dam in Germany is located here. Due to its high altitude of 930 metres above sea level, the water is pleasantly cool even in summer. Almost the entire shore area is easily accessible.

Width: approx. 1.4 km
Length: approx. 7.5 km
Area: approx. 5.14 km²
Depth: up to 61 m

Fishing in the Schluchsee is possible all year round. The closed seasons for the individual fish species must be observed.
