"Hans Müller" memorial plaques

A rest area has been built along the Rappenfelsensteig, between Staufen and Bulgenbach. Not only the marvellous view over the high valley and Bulgenbach invite you to linger at the new rest area, the memorial plaques also provide entertaining information about Hans Müller von Bulgenbach.

In 1524 and 1525, Hans Müller von Bulgenbach led the local peasantry in the Peasants' Wars against the authorities. The rebellious peasant leader was executed in August 1525.
