At that time, the founding members met at the Schwarzwaldhotel Trescher on Lake Titisee and decided to work together to promote the idea of the Lions movement. The driving force behind this was Dr Clausen, until then a member of the Freiburg Lions Club, who took the initiative and initiated the founding of the club at his home in Titisee-Neustadt. After a few informal meetings with interested parties, the club was launched just a few months after the initial endeavours with the proud number of 21 founding members.
The club members have always covered a broad spectrum of different professions.
Support is provided near and far, wherever public or private funds cannot be made available.
The necessary financial and material resources are generated through membership fees and projects.
We are a club that attaches great importance to an active club life. For this reason, the focus is not only on projects, but also on cultural and other events, most of which are attended and organised together with our partners.
The Black Forest Highlands Lions Club can now look back on over 49 years of existence. There are now 41 members, the youngest 35 years old and the oldest 89 years old, including 5 founding members from 1974.
