The Mettma Reservoir is in an idyllic location east of Brenden by the Black Forest Association’s “Mittelweg” trail. Surrounded by dense, deciduous forest, the lake almost appears like a Canadian seascape.
Lake Mettma is a pumped-storage reservoir in the Mettma Valley near Brenden (part of Ühlingen-Birkendorf). It is part of the pumped-storage power plant which is run by the Schluchtsee power plant.
Bathing in the lake is strictly prohibited!
The lake is a picturesque place of scenic beauty. A wonderful place to linger and relax.
