The long-cherished wish to found a music association in Geschwend took shape on 27 January 1908 at a social gathering in the "Rössle" inn. Spontaneous donations from the population, including from the neighbouring village of Präg, created the financial conditions for the founding of the association. The Geschwend-Präg music association was officially launched.
However, the originally planned collaboration with the neighbouring village of Präg soon came to an end, as people in Präg now preferred to found their own association.
The efforts of the first conductor to instruct the thirteen musicians in the use of the instruments and to mould them into a band that soon delighted the community on all festive occasions were unimaginable.
During the First World War, the association had to cease its activities as 18 active musicians were called up for military service. Two musicians did not return from military service.
Rehearsals resumed in March 1919 and in 1923 the Musikverein, with 21 musicians, including many young people, won first prize at a competition in Schönau.
Even today, the club still plays on many evenings for all fans and music lovers.
