After its foundation in 1958, the Wutachpiraten initially dominated the carnival scene.

The guild of castle millers was founded in 1973. The castle miller motif originated from a story by the poet Viktor von Scheffel, which tells of the battle at the Gauchach Bridge between the bailiff from Allmendshofen and the castle millers in 1188.
