Narrenzunft "der Gaudi-Hans" St. Blasien e.V.

A daring journeyman who was born in the Hotzenwald in 1689 and later became one of the insurgent leaders for freedom and justice, especially

against the monastery of St. Blasien. The Gaudihans' real name was Hans Wasmer, and he was soon given the nickname "Gaudihans" because of his spectacular performances. He arrogantly appointed himself judge and held his court hearings all over the forest, just as the Gaudihans still do today on Fasnetsmäntig with the Gaudigericht.
