A vision became an idea; today the "Black Forest Bike Marathon" is a crowd-puller, a fixture in the calendar and the sporting highlight in Furtwangen.
The sporting competition in one of the most beautiful cycling regions in Germany is also a competition for a good cause: five euros of the entry fee and any uncollected prize money will be donated to the Katharinenhöhe rehabilitation clinic in Furtwangen, which cares for seriously ill children and their families.
