The aim of the Black Forest Music Festival, under the direction of its artistic director Mark Mast, is to fill the Black Forest with music and bring it to life for concert-goers in beautiful and unusual locations. "Classical - jazz - world music" are the musical focal points of the high-calibre concerts.
In 2022, the Black Forest Music Festival will present an unusually diverse programme ranging from classical music and jazz to pop and rock. At the three opening concerts in Freudenstadt, Bad Wildbad and Grafenhausen-Rothaus , the Beethoven cycle , which began in 2014, will continue in its fifth year. One highlight is the first concert of the Black Forest Music Festival in Germany's highest concert hall, the TK Elevator Test Tower in Rottweil, on 6 May 2022 with Matthias Klink (Opera Singer of the Year 2017) under the motto "Hoch! Further highlights will take place on 28 May 2022 in the Schwarzwaldhalle in Baiersbronn with LOTTE, on 29 May 2022 in Ettlingen with the world-famous vocal ensemble Profeti della Quinta, on 31 May 2022 in Schramberg with the multi-award-winning Al Jones and his band or with the acclaimed star tenor "Jay Alexander goes Symphonic" on 4 June 2022 in Hinterzarten and on 5 June 2022 in Pforzheim. As in 2021, the celebrated Leo Betzl Trio with its unique jazz-techno sound will return to Freudenstadt on 1 June 2022. You can also experience the winners of the International ARD Music Competition and the Q-Revial Band will be rocking in Schopfloch on 3 June 2022 with the greatest songs from Queen.
The festive finale of the 2022 festival season will traditionally take place on 6 June 2022 at the Hotel Bareiss in Baiersbronn-Mitteltal with the ARD prizewinners' concert and the prizewinner Haruma Sato (cello ) with Naoko Sonoda on the piano .
