The Black Forest Association maintains 24,000 km of hiking trails, optimally and uniformly marked with 15,000 signposts and 250,000 waymarks, 22 long-distance hiking trails, of which the Westweg, the Mittelweg and the Querweg meet in Furtwangen. 30,000 hours of voluntary labour are put in by our trail wardens every year!

The Brendturm, a landmark of our town, offers the best views over the heights of the Black Forest to the Vosges mountains, the Swabian Alb and often a magnificent view of the Alps.
