Acquisition of a sailing licence according to the guidelines and curricula of the German Sailing Association. From May to the beginning of October.
The sailing area - The Schluchsee is located in the scenic southern Black Forest Highlands, approx. 40 km from Freiburg. It has a length of 7 km and an average width of 800 metres. Changeable winds make it an exceptionally interesting sailing area.
The boat park - Learning the sport of sailing is possible and interesting for all age groups. In order to fulfil all training requirements, we have prepared an exclusive selection of well-equipped boats for you. 14 dinghies and keelboats of various designs leave nothing to be desired.
The lessons - Comprehensive practical experience and theoretical knowledge are important for mastering a sailing boat. Both are taught intensively and comprehensively in a friendly atmosphere. The variety of boat equipment and proven, qualified instructors guarantee individualised and extremely thorough training.
Your equipment - You will need the following clothing: long trousers, e.g. jeans, pullovers, T-shirts, shoes with light-coloured soles. Also oilskins (jacket and trousers or overalls). Life jackets are provided free of charge at our sailing school.
Basic courses for sailing beginners, duration 1 week (=5 days). A basic course or equivalent sailing experience is a prerequisite for participation in courses for the official inland sailing licence for sailing boats (formerly sailing licence A)
You can obtain the VDSbasic sailing licence after a one-week course.
Courses for the official inland pleasure craft licence for sailing boats (formerly sailing licence A) Prerequisite: Basic course. Minimum age: 14 years, duration approx. 2 weeks (=10 days). For the compact course, all-inclusive price (sailing until you are ready for the exam), required documents: 1 passport photo, 1 hearing and eye test on a pre-printed form, certified photocopy of the licence.
Practice sailing as part of the sailing school as an extension to the course, to refresh and maintain knowledge already acquired. All courses include both theoretical and practical instruction.
We runwinter theory courses to obtain the inland pleasure craft licence (sail and motor) in Freiburg and Neustadt (adult education centre). Dates are published in the press and on our website.
Sailboat hire is open daily from May to the end of September. A prerequisite for hiring is proof of sailing knowledge, e.g. through the basic licence, the SBF-Binnen, SKS or the Bodenseeschifferpatent D. The SBF-See certificate is not sufficient.
