Trachtenkapelle Brandenberg e.V.
The symbadic brass band from the Black Forest Highlands - 100% live - 100% fun -
Great entertainment for every occasion, lively brass music with vocals is our calling card - at the annual concert we also play classical and modern music.
In 1923, the cycling club "Radlerlust" was founded, which can be seen as the cradle of today's Trachtenkapelle Brandenberg. In 1924, the idea of forming a separate brass band to play at social events came up. The music association was founded in 1926.
The association, which initially performed in uniforms, chose a traditional Black Forest costume as its uniform for the first time in 1966. The musicians of the "Trachtenkapelle Brandenberg", as it has been called since 1989, perform between 40 and 50 concerts every year. These include serenades for members, spa concerts and folklore evenings, framing sporting events, morning pint concerts and entertainment concerts at various clubs.
The musical highlight is the Christmas and annual concert. The "Musikantenstadel" programme, which has been held for several years and is presented in the summer, is very popular. Rehearsing this musical programme with vocal and show interludes also requires a lot of time and energy.
The Brandenbergers also enjoy travelling. In addition to performances in neighbouring Alsace, the Trachtenkapelle has also enjoyed making its musical mark in Germany. After performances in Ruhpolding, Aachen, the Westerwald and on the North Sea, the musicians also wowed audiences at their first performance in the new federal states in Rheinsberg in 2000.
The band achieved great success at district competitions and in 1989 at an international competition in Brno (Czech Republic), where the Trachtenkapelle was awarded a gold diploma.
The band's two-week trip to the USA in 1994 was an unforgettable experience. It led from Hartford/Connecticut via Niagara, Toronto (Canada) and Washington to New Jersey. 10,000 listeners attended the four performances and were thrilled by the programme on offer.
2009 CD recording 'Musikanten spiel'n auf', 2011 concert tour to Berlin and Rheinsberg, 2013 music tour to Oberstaufen / Allgäu, 2016 90th anniversary 'Waldfest 2.0', 2017 1-week music tour to Lüneburg, Hamburg followed by a sailing trip in Holland, 2019 music tour to Kirchberg / Tyrol
