3 facts about Ühlingen-Birkendorf
Unique wildlife: Two extraordinary animal species feel particularly at home on the slopes of the Schwarza, Schlücht, Mettma and Steina rivers: the extremely rare asp viper, which finds a suitable habitat in the warm and sparse forests with scree slopes, and the chamois, which also call the steep rocky slopes their home.
Black Forest primeval forest: You can hike through a real primeval forest on the Rappenfelsensteig premium hiking trail. Little has changed in the Schwarzahalden preserved forest for centuries. The steep slopes, deep gorges and scenic views make the tour a little adventure.
Kneipp tour: Some parts of Ühlingen-Birkendorf have a quiet highlight: the water treading area. So why not go on a "Kneipp tour" through Ühlingen-Birkendorf and refresh your tired legs in the lovingly designed treading pools.

Riedern am Wald: The former Augustinian monastery in Riedern am Wald is home to the Provost's Museum with a collection of old writings and sacred artefacts. An open-air theatre is also held here every two years, in which numerous locals take on the leading roles.
Hürrlingen: The smallest village in the municipality is particularly proud of one thing: the water treading pool! It was once built and maintained by the residents themselves. A festival is even organised here every year - the water treading pool festival.
