Wegebeschaffenheit
This varied circular hike begins at the hiking car park in Boll and first leads down into the impressive Wutach Gorge - one of the most unspoilt natural paradises in the Black Forest. You follow the wild course of the Wutach on narrow, unspoilt paths. The path meanders past moss-covered rocks, rustic tree roots and steep rock faces, while the sound of the water is a constant companion. The cool, damp air and the interplay of light and shadow give this section an almost mystical atmosphere.
After a while, you reach the idyllically situated Schattenmühle - a popular resting place that invites you to take an enjoyable break. Afterwards, the ascent through the impressive Lotenbachklamm gorge begins. The narrow path leads along the lively stream through a narrow gorge shaped by water and time. Small waterfalls cascade over mossy rocks, wooden footbridges and steps make the path through the wild scenery easier and constantly open up new perspectives of the roaring water.
Once you reach the top, the landscape changes: the gorge gives way to open meadows, rolling hills and sparse forests. The trail leads back towards the starting point at a more leisurely pace via the idyllic Tiefental valley. Sweeping views, the buzzing of insects and the soothing silence of nature form an atmospheric conclusion to this impressive tour, which combines gorge adventure and Black Forest idyll in a special way.
