Between Breitnau's heights and the popular Black Forest town of Hinterzarten, a hike full of far-reaching views, tranquillity and Black Forest charm unfolds.

The landscape around the Fahrenberg is characterised by stately farms such as the Clemens-, Faller-, Jockels- and Mathislehof. In between, there are always impressive views over the gentle mountains of the Black Forest Highlands. Forests, meadows and pastures lend the tour an original, lively atmosphere.

Light forest sections alternate with passages with great views. A special moment of pleasure awaits hikers at Heiligenbrunnen. The charming restaurant is known for its freshly caught Black Forest trout and seasonal specialities - an enjoyable break in idyllic surroundings.

This tour combines impressive panoramic views, typical Black Forest farms and regional culinary delights to create a beautiful long-distance hike.

Wegbeschreibung

You start at Fahrenberg in Breitnau and take the path past the Clemens, Faller, Jockels and Mathislehof farms and enjoy the marvellous view of the Black Forest mountains. At the Eckerhof farm, turn right and walk downhill past the fallow deer enclosure towards Tiefen. There, the Weißtannenweg trail leads you slightly uphill on a scenic route. Continue past the Franzseppenhof and Holzhof farms to Heiligenbrunnen. The charming restaurant offers the opportunity to enjoy a cosy meal. The extensive menu includes freshly caught Black Forest trout and other seasonal delicacies. From here, continue downhill on the road to the Lafette inn. There you cross the main road via a pedestrian bridge and finally reach Hinterzarten.
