Path condition
This slightly more challenging cycle route leads from Bonndorf through the Black Forest Highlands, featuring long climbs, varied landscapes and plenty of worthwhile stops. The route follows mainly well-surfaced paths and is suitable for fit cyclists with a very good level of fitness. Technically, the tour is straightforward and therefore easily manageable even without any special cycling skills.
One of the highlights of the tour is a stop at the cosy Gasthof Sommerau, which is ideal for your first break. Around Schluchsee, you can expect impressive views of the Black Forest’s largest lake – the dam in particular is a real highlight of the route. Right by the water, there are several spots where you can take a breather or even go for a swim in summer.
Another perfect stop is the Unterkrummenhof, with its unique location above the lake and regional cuisine – ideal for recharging your batteries. If you’re cycling the route on hot days, you can cool off in the Schluchsee whenever you like along the way. To round off the ride, Bonndorf also boasts an outdoor swimming pool, which is the perfect way to wind down after the ride.
