Follow number 6 - Attention: A fear of heights is not a good prerequisite for this tour! On the almost 47 km long, moderately difficult route, you will not only work up a sweat by cycling, but also by climbing the two towers along the way. The Brend and Stöcklewald towers are considered to be particularly scenic towers in the Black Forest Highlands and offer far-reaching views as far as the Feldberg. The tour also leads past other natural spectacles, such as the source of the Danube.

The tour starts at the market square in Furtwangen and leads us uphill towards Neukirch through the idyllic high valley. After the "Schweizers Grund" you reach the suburb of Neukirch. As soon as you arrive at Neueck, a first refreshment stop awaits you. The Landgasthof Hirschen invites you to stop for refreshments before continuing the tour over the Staatsberg. After a sometimes challenging ascent, you have reached one of the stage destinations: the Brend at an altitude of 1149 metres. On the Brend, you can climb the spectacular 17 metre high Brend Tower, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of Feldberg, Schauinsland, Kandel, the Swabian Alb, the Vosges mountains and even the Alps. After a short break on the tower and a refreshment stop at an inn or the nearby Naturfreundehaus, you can walk around the Rosseck to the Martinskapelle chapel, a popular cross-country skiing paradise in winter. The highlight here is the Breg spring, the actual source of the Danube. A few metres further on is the actual Martinskapelle chapel itself, whose origins date back to pre-Carolingian times. Snack lovers will get their money's worth on this section, as the popular "QuellOmat" from Kolmenhof, which is stocked with small snacks, drinks, hiking accessories and holiday souvenirs, is located along the way. You enjoy a downhill ride with a view of the Farnberg valley and reach the Kathrinenhöhe via Furtwängle, where the rehabilitation clinic of the same name is located.
On the Escheck, the pass between Schönwald and Furtwangen, two inns invite you to stop for a bite to eat. After approx. 6 km, you will reach the Stöcklewald forest on a flat mountain trail. Here you will find another popular excursion destination, the Stöcklewald tower. At 25 metres high, the viewing platform offers a breathtaking panoramic view over the central Black Forest as far as the Feldberg. Right next to it is the Stöcklewaldturm hiking centre, which invites you to stop off for a hearty snack and homemade cake. The tour continues past the historic "Galgen" execution site in the direction of Fuchsfalle. Following the district road towards Oberkirnach, turn left at Kesselberg to the mountain station of the Kesselberg ski lift. From there, follow the narrow road to Vöhrenbach. Follow the signs along the railway embankment back to Furtwangen.
