This varied circular route combines physical challenges with the stunning landscapes of the Black Forest Highlands. Starting from the car park, the route first follows the popular ‘Bähnle’ cycle path through the idyllic Haslach Valley, past dense forests, small bridges and peaceful stretches of countryside.
A particular highlight of the tour is the imposing Klausenbach Viaduct, which spans the valley in spectacular fashion and is one of the region’s most beautiful photo opportunities. The route continues via Lenzkirch towards the Gutach Valley, where there are repeated opportunities to enjoy magnificent views of the typical Black Forest landscape.
The route then leads past the impressive Gutach Bridge to the well-known Lake Titisee. Along the shore, numerous vantage points invite you to take short breaks. The tour then continues to the tranquil Windgfällweiher and the picturesque Schluchsee – two true natural highlights of the Black Forest.
For a leisurely stop for refreshments, the Gasthof Sommerau is the perfect choice, offering regional cuisine and Black Forest hospitality.
Overall, the route is challenging and requires a very good level of fitness; however, it is technically somewhat easier and runs mainly along paved paths. An ideal route for ambitious cyclists who want to combine nature, panoramic views and Black Forest charm.
