Wegebeschaffenheit
This varied circular tour starts at the hiking car park in Holzschlag and first leads into the impressive nature of the Wutach Gorge. Narrow, unspoilt paths lead past moss-covered rocks, steep slopes and rushing watercourses. The interplay of light and shade, the gentle babbling of the water and the primeval forest-like vegetation give this section a very special atmosphere. A worthwhile detour leads up to the legendary Räuberschlössle, which towers impressively over the gorge and offers a beautiful view of the valley.
After this wild nature experience, the route leaves the gorge and leads into quieter, open landscapes. After a gentle ascent, you finally reach Gündelwangen, where the Catholic church of St. Maria Himmelfahrt with its simple, inviting atmosphere invites you to take a short break.
The way back leads across wide meadows and through sparse forests, which repeatedly offer beautiful views of the surrounding Black Forest landscape. Another rest point is the idyllically situated Vogtsbuckhütte - ideal for a short breather before returning to Holzschlag in comfort.
This circular hike impressively combines the wild gorge experience of the Wutach with open mountain ranges and tranquil villages - a varied nature experience for all those who want to enjoy exercise and scenery in equal measure.
