Small circular route - Roggenbach castles

The circular hike starts at the Roggenbach hiking car park and leads through the picturesque Steinatal valley near Bonndorf in the Black Forest. Right at the start, you reach the ruins of Steinegg, a small but charming castle ruin that offers a first insight into the history of the region. A few minutes later, the imposing ruins of Roggenbach Castle appear, with its two surviving towers rising high into the sky. Together with Steinegg, they form the so-called Roggenbacher Schlösser (Roggenbach Castles) - evidence of times gone by that are now harmoniously embedded in the surrounding nature.

The trail continues through quiet forest passages, where views of the Steinatal valley open up time and again. Sometimes across meadows, sometimes through sparse forests, the circular route conveys a feeling of seclusion and tranquillity. The combination of nature and history makes the hike particularly appealing: historic ruins meet idyllic landscapes, while easily accessible paths and small hills add variety to the tour.
