This varied circular tour in the Wittlekofen district combines nature, history and idyllic paths off the beaten track. On a clear day, impressive views of the Alps open up, making every step worthwhile. The tour starts at the car park at the cemetery, from there it goes slightly downhill through the village and continues along Roggenbacher Straße to the end of the village. A gently ascending path then leads uphill in a wide arc until you reach the district road again before heading downhill again. Via field paths and the Wolfhaldeweg trail, you reach the hikers' car park and continue along the Schlosshaldenweg trail below the imposing ruins of Steinegg Castle and past the historic Roggenbach castles. Via the Tunznauweg trail, the route finally climbs back up to Wittlekofen, along Roggenbacher Straße and back to the Am Buck road, which leads to the starting point at the cemetery. The mixture of quiet paths, historic buildings and impressive nature makes this tour an unforgettable half-day excursion.

The tour starts at the car park by the cemetery. From here, take the road "Am Buck" on the right, slightly downhill into the village. At the next junction, turn left into "Roggenbacher Straße" and follow this road to the end of the village.
Keep left at the end of the road and walk uphill on a slightly ascending path in a wide arc for approx. 800 metres until you reach the district road again. From here, the path now leads downhill - if you wish, you can use the parallel field path in sections.
In the district of Wittlekofen, turn right into the road "Im Stüdle". After the last house, a country lane continues to the left. Cross the Wellendingen-Wittlekofen connecting road ("Im Buck") and continue downhill along the Steinaweg for about 1.1 km.
Keep left at the next junction and follow the Wolfhaldeweg to the hikers' car park. From here, the tour follows the Schlosshaldenweg below the impressive ruins of Steinegg Castle and past the Roggenbach castles. The route then takes the Tunznauweg back up to Wittlekofen.
Follow Roggenbacher Straße to the left for a short distance before turning right again into the street "Am Buck" and returning to the starting point at the car park by the cemetery.
